INSTITUTIONAL AIM AND OBJECTIVES
Aim : To produce competent traditional medicine practitioners for basic health care.
Objectives : The graduates of the institutes :
1. should have acquired basic knowledge, skills and appropriate attitudes in Myarmar Traditional Medicine.
2. should be able to give competent health care services to the communities.
3. should be able to involve in activities of National Health Programmes.
4. should have basic scientific knowledge of research principles, process and ethics and be able to conduct research in Traditional Medicine.
5. should be capable of continuing in-depth study of Traditional Medicine and related aspects to uphold professional excellence and integrity.
6. should be able to co-operate, coordinate, collaborate, with western medicine in community health care .
7. should be able to abide by the professional ethics and uphold the prestige of the profession.
Departmental Objectives
At the end of the course, the learners should be able to:
Knowledge
1. know the traditional medical terms and basic principles of four Nayas
2. understand the diagnostic methods and treatment guidelines in DesanaNaya and BhesajjaNaya medical systems
3. understand the basic principles ofNakkhattaNaya and VijjadharaNaya in traditional medicine context.
Skills
1. diagnose and develop the treatment schedules by DesanaNaya and BhesajjaNaya medical systems and able to manage the diseases accordingly.
2. Give relevant diets according to the therapeutic table calculated by NakkhattaNaya.
3. Produce or prepare the drugs and give treatments by the medical system of VijjadharaNaya.
Attitude
1. Motivate oneself to further study after realization of the systematic interactions and benefits.
2. Develop a positive attitude towards NakkhattaNaya medical system as a useful adjunct to complex and higher medical therapies.
3. Develop a positive attitude towards VijjadharaNaya medical system as a useful adjunct to sophisticated and supernatural therapies.
4. Take pride in being a modern and visionary traditional healer who is keen to do research and to take care of community's health with evidence-based traditional medicine.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
Aims
The course aims to produce highly qualified highly qualified traditional medicine practitioners who would be able to undertake various positions in the field of teaching, research and clinical practice relating to traditional medicine so as to contribute toward the sustainable development of traditional medicine as well as health development in Myanmar.
Objectives
At the end of the course, the learners should be able to:
1. Strengthen the knowledge and skills relating to concepts, principles and practice of four Nayas (systems of Myanmar Traditional Medicine), Dravaguna, Clinical Pharmacology and specific therapeutic procedure of Myanmar Traditional Medicine.
2. Contribute more effectively in clinical practice of traditional medicine for health development of the country.
3. take the leadership role for sustainable development of Myanmar Traditional Medicine and to carry out evidence-based traditional medicine.
4. carry out modernization of traditional medicine according to ongoing changes of health needs.
5. Upgrade oneself by continuing education and research relating to traditional medicine.
6. Relate and apply the knowledge of traditional medicine from other countries to Myanmar Traditional Medicine.
7. design, organize and perform basic and applied research in the field of traditional medicine and phytomedicine.
