INSTITUTIONAL AIM AND OBJECTIVES
Aim: To produce competent traditional medicine practitioners for basic health care
Objectives: The graduates of the university:
1. Should have acquired basic knowledge, skills and appropriateattitudes in Myanmar traditional Medicine.
2. Should be able to give competent health care services to the communities
3. Should be able to involve in activities of National Health Programmes.
4. Should have basic scientific knowledge of research principles,process and ethics and be able to conduct research in traditional medicine.
5. Should be capable of continuing in-depth study of traditional medicine and related aspects to uphold professional excellence and integrity.
6. Should be able to co-operate, co-ordinate, collaborate with western medicine in community health care.
7. Should be able to abide by the professional ethics and uphold the prestige of the profession.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
Specific Learning Objective
• At the end of the course, the learners should be able to:
1. Formulate the development of embryo by Traditional Medical aspect as well as scientific aspect and be able to provide health care of pregnant mother
2. Analyze signs and symptoms of pregnancy
3. State competently common complaints of pregnant women and be able to provide appropriate treatment by Traditional Medicine
4. Realize signs and symptoms of abnormal labour and provide delivery or recognize conditions that require timely and appropriate referral
5. Explore competently Sutika-paricaryaroga and able to perform the appropriate treatment.
6. Analyze normal and abnormal characters of new born baby
7. Realize the importance of breast milk and its effect upon child and mother.
8. Perform the diagnosis of Yonivyapada and Astartavadosas and be able to provide effective treatment
9. Recognize the indications for dilatation and curettage and be able to perform therapeutic interventions
10. Recognize the instruments used in obstetrics and gynaecology and be able to apply in clinical practice

DURATION OF THE COURSE
- (2 ) Years Course
- The minimum length of time required will be 2 years after which period the candidate will have to return to his/her mother unit. However an extension of up to two years will be permitted for the candidate to continue his/her research programme as an external student.
- At the end of 2 years, if he/she fails to complete the course, the candidature will be terminated.
